This will make your Monday!
One of my sweet students heard a song on the way to work today and belted out the most beautiful version of this song. It's pretty sweet and I wanted to share it with everyone! Happy Monday!

Appliance shopping
Today me, my staff and our students will be shopping for appliance to be purchased for our new house. We will be visiting 3 different stores in Marble Falls; C & D T.V., Lowe's and Home Depot. Once we collect the data needed, we will send our findings onto Mr. Spencer and he will collaborate with the builder on the purchases.
This is such a neat process for the Transition students to experience and even more wonderful that they get a say in what goes into their new facility.

A big THANK YOU!
Students and staff members are geared up for another wonderful year and we want to thank the following businesses and organization for allowing our students to come in and learn life, work and social skills!
Would you like to add your business to our list? Please feel free to contact me about having a student come in and volunteer with your business or ogranization. Once you become familiar with our program and students, we can discuss long-term paid employment and the benefits of it for you.

Transition Fair- Sat. 29th
There is an awesome event going on this weekend and any parent who has a child with disabilities would benefit from this great opportunity.
This event will host over 80 agencies, organizations, residential and day-hab facilities and even colleges, trade schools and universities that have educational programs in place for adults with various levels of disabilities. It will be helpful for parents with students of all ages.
I encourage everyone to attend, and I'll see you there!

What we do best...among other things!
My students are the best at making a variety of different "easy" foods. They have proven their abilities to make delicious pizzas, macaroni and cheese and of course...everything in the world for breakfast.
These students came into this program with such a plethora of knowledge and skills, thanks to their many years of training from K-12 life teachers. What we try to do in this program is enhance and build upon the skills they already possess, while showing them the variety of ways their skills can be applied in their own lives after their time at public school is completed.
Cooking is just one of many skills that we work diligently on every week. Students have learned how to use a conventional oven safely and properly, while also learning the convenience and efficency of a microwave oven.

Yes, another update...
Our main task at the work site is to pick up the litter around the premises. It helps keep our house looking attractive and tidy.

Thank you, teacher aides!
As a former teacher aide, I know how important it is to feel appreciated when the pay check doesn't always reflect the amount of time and effort put into this vital position. We have a new classroom schedule for the spring and it's chalked full of exciting things. One of them is a full hour devoted to skill strengthening through small group instruction. My TA's have stepped up and come up with some awesome ideas for this time period. Together, we are working to get everyone ready for their next stage of life! Thank you ladies!!
Interior Photo
We are so thrilled that our house is coming along so fast! A HUGE thanks to Mike McClung of Edmond/McClung Builders in Marble Falls for taking this project and running with it. We could not be happier!
